Hi, I'm Emma. I'm a graphic designer & creator living in the Twin Cities. My strengths are in areas of visual design such as identity, branding, packaging, & concepting. I was fortunate to receive a broad design education from the University of Minnesota, where I worked with everything from old school letterpress techniques to the latest interactivity and UX testing.
When it comes to design, there is nothing I believe in more than the power of the form / function relationship. I believe in the famous words William Morris gave us, "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful," or even more to the point, "Beauty [...] is, I contend, no mere accident to human life, which people can take or leave as they choose, but a positive necessity of life."
My happy place is cozied up at home with my fur babies, Bentley & Littlefoot, but you might see me around town, lingering over tea in Ginkgo's Cafe or perusing local shops like Common Good Books or I Like You boutiques. Outside of design, my passion is furthering the influence of handmade traditions, whether it's through my own handmade macrame furniture business or another's handcrafted goods. The entrepreneurial spirit thrives in me & over the last 3 years being a maker has brought me to opportunities and a community that I never thought I would have. If you're interested, my current work can be viewed in my Etsy store & my works-in-progress on my Instagram.
